Applying for nurse job
Firstly, I should say nowdays to find a job in my home country being a nurse is difficult for young people, you have to pass a public exam and usually health system only call you to work covering night shift or holidays from older proffesionals. So it is a great opportunity to apply for a nurse job in Finland due to the fact that they need a lot health proffesional.
However, there is a big problem and that issue is that you have to be fluent in Finnish language. I haven´t finish nurse degree yet but I know a Spanish friend that has already finished and she is now working in Pori. She told me that her first idea to write the curriculum for England, like many of the classmates who had studied with me, but it was in January 2012 when her grandmother happened to tell me that she had seen on the news that in Finland they needed nurses. She sent her curriculum, then they confirmed that She was among the 52 nurses chosen to go to the west of Finland. The Finnish company that chose them had an agreement with a Finnish employment program.
It was not necessary to perform any exam. Of the 52 chosen, they divided them into three groups to study Finnish. Each of these groups would study at a different point in Spain, in her case she had to go to Santander. They were there from May to September studying Finnish. At the end of the summer they had a Finnish exam to see what level we were leaving. At the beginning of October she left for Finland.
Throughout the summer they were informed of the paperwork they would need, first they should send all the papers to a sworn translator and after that to a notary to check the documents. Once all the paperwork was done, it was only necessary to send it to Valvira, which is the national welfare and health authority of Finland. Among many other things, Valvira is in charge of registering all competent professionals for health practice and giving him the permits to perform his work as a professional. In addition to the paperwork, you also had to pay registration fees of approximately 400 euros.
The program for which her was chosen was to work in Satakunta, a region located in the west of Finland, here we would be approximately 15 nurses, the rest of the chosen colleagues would go to other areas of western Finland. The first year she was with three more nurses in a town called Harjavalta, they lived four in the same house and they worked in the same nursing home. They had free time together, they studied Finnish ... after a year their colleagues made the decision to leave Finland and she decided to stay, that's when at work they recommended her to move to Pori. When they arrived in Finland, they still did not have the approval of Valvira to practice the nursing profession, which is why the first contract they made her was as a nursing assistant, this contract lasted one year and at the end of the year they made her a nursing contract. After a month searching and searching she was taken to start in the summer to work in the TYKS (University Hospital of Turku). And now she is happy living in Finland, so in my opinion it´s a big opportnity and has to be consider for nurses in Spain
